The overlap of fanbases between the vast form of multimedia entertainment in the world of pop culture is far from a new occurrence. It's fairly common that transmedia has a tendency to overlap in genres, styles, storytelling mediums, and fanbases. With anime in particular, there's been a significant intersection of video gaming and animation, and the two art forms have greatly influenced each other. Collaborations between the video gaming and anime industries have continued to connect their audiences through one streamlined piece of media.
Japanese science fantasy role-playing video game franchise Final Fantasy was first released in 1987, and since, has claimed its identity as a global phenomenon. With 87 titles in the ongoing saga, Final Fantasy has caught the attention of anime fans around the world. Anime Central has established itself as the leading convention in the Midwest dedicated to anime and manga. Since ACen has grown significantly, it has been able to embark further on its mission of bringing fans together while celebrating prominent industry titles. As a part of their 2023 convention, ACen has announced that they are pleased to welcome A New World: intimate music from FINAL FANTASY back as a featured event.
Musical arrangements from composers Nobuo Uematsu, Masashi Hamauzu, Naoshi Mizuta, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Yoko Shimomura, and Masayoshi Soken will be performed lived under the direction of Eric Roth. The New World Players chamber ensemble is anticipated to perform official music hand-picked from the Final Fantasy series. Since the initial debut of A New World: intimate music from FINAL FANTASY in 2014, the musical event has taken place on four different continents that have enchanted thousands of audiences around the world. A New World: intimate Music from FINAL FANTASY isn't the only concert slated to take place at Anime Central, and the convention is set to host Kyary Pamyu Pamyu at the convention as an official stop on her POPPP World Tour. ACen returns on May 19th to May 21, 2023. Attendee Registration for Anime Central can be found here. Any attendee who identifies as a convention runner, industry professional, anime organization runner, et cetera are encouraged to fill out the Professional Registration Form to receive a discount on their convention admission. School Groups and Service Members qualify for discounted rates on their attendance at Anime Central 2023. Those registering for a designated table in the Artist Alley or Exhibitor Hall are directed to register through the Registration Service Center after submitting applications for either region of the convention floor. Approved parties for Artist Alley and the Exhibitor Hall will receive emails detailing how to claim their badges in the Service Center. Artists, exhibitors, and panelists should not register on the Attendee Registration page.
