Powerhouse Animation's Netflix Original Castlevania isn't the only hit that the studio has when it comes to anchoring mythology within anime. Created by Charlie and Vlas Parlapanides, this Ancient Greek-inspired anime will stream on Netflix in late October.
What's On Netflix breaks down on what this new series sets out to deliver. Zeus, leading the Gods of Olympus, defeat the Titans who had previously cursed them. In conjunction with this curse, Giants are released for the world to face. An Eastern army, after mustering the power that they could from these slain giants, views Greece as their next anticipated conquest. Heron, a Greek commoner, discovers that he is the son of Zeus, and embraces his destiny.
A popular voice and talented voice cast have been assembled, including Matthew Mercer (Overwatch, Castlevania, Critical Role) as Hermes, Jessica Henwick (Game of Thrones) as Alexia, and Adetokumboh M’Cormack (Castlevania, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) as Kofi. This is M'Cormack's second role in a Powerhouse production.
The series's first season will host eight episodes, all at a 24 minute run time. Originally introduced under the title Gods & Heroes, Blood of Zeus' first episode will be available to stream on October 27.
