Marvel is once again looking to shake up its comic universe by reaching into their vault and pulling out one of their most infamous comic runs.
For those who might be unfamiliar with Heroes Reborn, the story places itself after a fateful battle against Onslaught where Marvel's biggest heroes sacrificed themselves with the selflessness of saving the world from one of the most powerful villains that they've crossed paths with. Lives were given to defeat Onslaught, but what these martyred heroes didn't realize is that they were saved by Franklin Richards, who created a pocket of the universe for them. From this, came Heroes Reborn.
There was an exchange of lesser-known teams for the most popular ones, where the Avengers and the Fantastic Four were swapped out for the Thunderbolts and the X-Men. Though there was no intention to introduce this change forever, and these "dead" heroes would return to Marvel's regular comics, the changes and redesigns that came along with new installations were not as successful as the comic company would have hoped.
The objective was to streamline the events of Heroes Reborn into a fresh place for fans to start, but with too many bumps in the road and baggage to bring along, the relaunch was not the reboot that it was foreseen to be.
Outside of a promotional image with the tagline "What Ever Happened to Earth's Mightiest Heroes?" there isn't much information about how Marvel will reconfigure what seems to be a comic reset. Heroes Reborn release in 2021.
