This isn't the first time that the upcoming James Bond title has faced pushback due to the global pandemic, and hopefully, for MGM, Universal, and Eon Productions, it'll be the last.
No Time To Die (2021) was the first major blockbuster to be squashed by COVID-19 theater precautions, when its April 2020 release became its November 2020 release, and now its chances at an April 2021 theatrical debut are off the table.
The 25th Bond film will send of actor Daniel Craig's time as the titular spy - 007 - himself, and close the chapter of Craig's time as Bond. However, with Craig's bow out from the espionage franchise, there is still room for the franchise to continue on. Returnees Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, and Christoph Waltz will reprise their respected roles alongside series newcomers Rami Malek, Ana de Armas, and Lashana Lynch. It is implied that Lynch will carry on as 007, but not as James Bond.
No Time To Die is now expected to premiere on October 8, 2021.
